Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Ross Walker is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Since co-founding the company, Mr. Walker has served on the Investment Committee where he leads the firm's real estate acquisition and development, asset management and property management activities. Prior to forming Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Walker served as a Partner at Wolff Urban Development, a real estate-based family office, which included professional sports team ownership activities (Oakland Athletics and San Jose Earthquakes).
Mr. Walker graduated from Stanford University and earned an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Subsequently, Mr. Walker served on Stanford University’s Board of Trustees and now serves as Trustee Emeritus. Mr. Walker is also a member of the Stanford Real Estate Council and YPO.
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Karan Suri is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Since co-founding the company, Mr. Suri has served on the Investment Committee where he leads the firm's development activities and is responsible for the acquisition, disposition, development and repositioning of all real estate investments. Additionally, Mr. Suri is actively involved in sourcing new investment transactions and oversees the asset management of the firm's portfolio. Prior to forming Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Suri served as a Managing Director at The Menlo Companies in their real estate development group. Mr. Suri has also held positions at Clarity Partners, a media and telecom focused private equity firm and at UBS in their investment banking division.
Mr. Suri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University with a double major in Computer Science and Economics both of which he completed in 3 years. In addition, Mr. Suri holds a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Joshua Bird serves as General Counsel for Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Bird is responsible for oversight and management of all legal issues encountered by the fund and its affiliates.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Bird was Counsel at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger, LLP, a Los Angeles based law firm. While his practice involved all facets of real estate transactional work, he primarily focused on representing owners, developers and operators on their hospitality-related matters. Prior to joining Greenberg Glusker, Mr. Bird was an associate in the Real Estate department in Paul Hastings LLP's Los Angeles office.
Mr. Bird obtained his JD from the Columbia University School of Law, and received a Certificate in Global Business and Governance from Sciences Po (Paris) and La Sorbonne (Paris). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Chief Financial Officer
Martin Colvin is Chief Financial Officer of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Colvin oversees all accounting, finance compliance and human resource operations of the company.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Colvin worked at JRK Investors, Inc., a private equity firm located in Los Angeles. The bulk of the portfolio consisted of multifamily properties and Mr. Colvin coordinated the investor reporting and fund accounting for the consolidated partnerships.
Prior to JRK Investors, Inc., Mr. Colvin worked at Watt Family Properties, an owner, developer and manager of commercial real estate properties located in Los Angeles Mr. Colvin was responsible for the financial reporting requirements of over 4.8 million square feet of retail shopping centers.
Prior to Watt Family Properties, Mr. Colvin worked at Arden Realty, Inc., real estate investment trust located in Los Angeles. Mr. Colvin was responsible for the internal and external financial reporting requirements of 7.2 million square feet of commercial real estate located in West Angeles.
Mr. Colvin received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and his M.B.A from Golden Gate University. He is a California Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Vice President, Asset Management
Andrea Colagrande serves as Vice President of Asset Management at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Colagrande is responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of the company.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Colagrande was with JRK Investors, a real estate private equity firm located in Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Asset Management Group. During his tenure at JRK Investors, he has served in several asset management roles including Vice President of Operation and Senior Analyst of Multifamily Division. Mr. Colagrande received his B.S. in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management.
Vice President, Asset Management
Eric Lutz serves as Vice President of Asset Management at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Lutz is responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of the company.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Lutz was a member of the Hotel Group at JRK Property Holdings, a real estate private equity firm located in Los Angeles. During his time with the JRK Hotel Group, Eric lead the management and operations of the firm's portfolio of branded and independent hotel properties. Mr. Lutz received a BA in Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Associate, Asset Management
Sarah Shea serves as Associate of Asset Management at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Ms. Shea is responsible for helping to oversee the performance and operations of the company.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Ms. Shea was a member of the Multifamily Group at JRK Property Holdings. Ms. Shea received her degree in Mathematics from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Vice President, Operations
David Cornish is the Vice President of Operations of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Cornish oversees all property management functions of firm’s real estate portfolio.
Mr. Cornish has specialized in hotel management since 1976. Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Cornish worked for Wolff Urban Development since 2004 as President of Hotel Operations managing the portfolio of limited and full service hotel properties.
Prior to first joining Wolff Urban Development, Mr. Cornish worked for Marriott International in Newport Beach and Seattle and served as General Manager with various companies in the Western States. Mr. Cornish joined Wolff Urban Management as General Manager at Holiday Inn La Mirada in 1992. In 1993, Mr. Cornish was appointed co-General Manager at the Hilton Burbank Airport & Convention Center. After the Hilton was sold, Mr. Cornish worked for Hilton Hotels Corporation and later joined Stonebridge Companies, a Denver-based hotel group, for whom he opened several Anaheim resort area hotels. Mr. Cornish was later promoted to Vice President of Hotel Operations for the company's California region.
Mr. Cornish received a B.S. in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Cum Laude, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA. He is also a lifetime Certified Hotel Administrator.
Vice President, Development
Michael Wilk is the Vice President of Development for Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Wilk supports the acquisition, due diligence, and project feasibility, as well as coordinates the design, development and construction for the various properties in the funds.
Before Hawkins Way Capital, Michael provided Owner's Construction Representation for hospitality clients such as publicly traded Pebblebrook Hotel Trust and Lasalle Hotel Properties as well as a number of privately held funds developing ground-up multifamily and commercial projects in the San Francisco Bay area.
Mr. Wilk previously developed and operated a design/build division for Centric Construction and owned and operated Michael Wilk Architecture. Project experience in these roles include: new construction, historic and adaptive reuse, as well as commercial tenant improvement.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the State University of New York, Buffalo, and a Master of Architecture from McGill University in Montreal. Mr. Wilk is a licensed architect in California and New York with reciprocity in all states. Michael is an active NCARB, AIA, and USGBC member and is LEED accredited for new construction.
Senior Project Manager
Hillary Gerber serves as a Senior Project Manager at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Ms. Gerber supports the acquisition, due diligence, and project feasibility, as well as coordinates the design, development and construction for the various properties in the funds.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Ms. Gerber was a Project Manager at SKS Partners and a Project Manager with Shorenstein Realty Services in the commercial development department. Ms. Gerber received her B.S. in Construction Management from Ferris State University and M.S. in Real Estate Development from New York University.
Senior Vice President, Investments
Leonard Ross is Vice President of Investments at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Ross is primarily responsible for analyzing, executing, and managing real estate investments and capital market opportunities.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Ross was with JRK Investors, a real estate private equity firm located in Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Acquisitions Group. During his tenure at JRK Investors, Mr. Ross focused on sourcing and evaluating multifamily property and portfolio transactions for two investment funds. Mr. Ross received his B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Dartmouth College.
Teddy Fogelman is an Acquisitions Analyst at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Fogelman is primarily responsible for supporting the investments team through financial analysis and market research.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Fogelman completed internships at Hudson Pacific Properties and Columbus Pacific Properties, where he was a member of the Acquisitions Group. Mr. Fogelman received in B.A. in Communication with a double minor in Real Estate Finance and Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California.
Acquisitions & Operations Analyst
Oliver Strouse serves as Acquisitions and Operations Analyst at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Mr. Strouse is primarily responsible for supporting the investments team through financial & market analysis, as well as supporting the asset management team through oversight of operations & property performance.
Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Strouse earned his real estate license in sales and completed one year as an agent/broker’s assistant at Jane J Inc, during which he sourced industrial, retail, and multifamily transactions. Mr. Strouse received his B.A. in Biology with Minor in Music from Colorado College.
Mr. Wolff is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wolff Urban, a real estate acquisition, investment, development and management firm. He is also the co-Founder and, since 1994, has served as co-Chairman of Maritz, Wolff & Co., a privately held hotel investment group that owns top-tier luxury hotels. Maritz Wolff's investments exceed $1.0 billion.
Mr. Wolff serves as a Director of Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc., served as Vice Chairman of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and served as co-Chairman of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a hotel management company formed by Fairmont Hotel Management Company and Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts, Inc. Mr. Wolff acquired ownership of Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics in 2005 and Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes in 2007.
Mr. Wolff serves on the Board of Directors of First Century Bank and Bobrick Washroom Equipment. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and received his M.B.A from Washington University in St. Louis.
