Ross Walker

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Ross Walker is a Founder and Managing Partner of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Since 2005, Mr. Walker, first as a Partner at Wolff Urban Development, has focused on individual property acquisitions, portfolio acquisitions, property management and development projects.

Mr. Walker's prior professional experience was with Joie de Vivre Hospitality in San Francisco, owner, operator and developer of boutique hotels. Mr. Walker's professional experience also includes associate and financial analyst positions focused on general corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions with investment banking firms in Los Angeles, and a business development role with an education technology firm in Calabasas.

Mr. Walker received a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. From 2005-2010, Mr. Walker served on Stanford University's Board of Trustees which administers the invested funds, sets the annual budget and determines policies for operation and control of the University. Mr. Walker now serves as trustee emeritus and is a member of the Stanford Real Estate Council.

Karan Suri

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Mr. Suri is a Founder and Managing Partner of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Prior to forming Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Suri served as Managing Director at San Francisco based Menlo Capital Group where he has overseen the real estate portfolio and development activities of the firm.

Prior to joining Menlo Capital Group, Mr. Suri worked at Clarity Partners, a private equity firm located in Los Angeles. While at Clarity, Mr. Suri helped execute over $1 billion in equity investments in media and telecom companies throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Mr. Suri was responsible for structuring, executing and negotiating new and follow-on investments in several portfolio companies.

Prior to Clarity Partners, Mr. Suri was in the Investment Banking Group at UBS in New York where he was involved with the analysis and execution of M&A, equity and high yield transactions.

Mr. Suri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University with a double major in Computer Science and Economics both of which he completed in 3 years. In addition, Mr. Suri holds a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Cornell University.

Martin Colvin

Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration

Martin Colvin is Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Martin Colvin is currently overseeing all of the accounting, finance, compliance and human resource operations.

Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Colvin worked at JRK Investors, Inc., a private equity firm located in Los Angeles. The bulk of the portfolio comprises multi-family properties and Mr. Colvin coordinated the investor reporting and fund accounting for the consolidated partnerships.

Prior to JRK Investors, Inc., Mr. Colvin worked at Watt Family Properties, an owner, developer and manager of commercial real estate properties located in Los Angeles Mr. Colvin was responsible for the financial reporting requirements of over 4.8 million square feet of retail shopping centers.

Prior to Watt Family Properties, Mr. Colvin worked at Arden Realty, Inc., real estate investment trust located in Los Angeles. Mr. Colvin was responsible for the internal and external financial reporting requirements of 7.2 million square feet of commercial real estate located in West Angeles.

Mr. Colvin received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and his M.B.A from Golden Gate University. He is a California Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

David Cornish

Senior Vice President of Operations

David Cornish is Senior Vice President of Operations of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. David is currently overseeing all of the property management operations.

Mr. Cornish has specialized in hotel management since 1976. Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Cornish worked for Wolff Urban Development since 2004 as President of Hotel Operations managing the portfolio of limited and full service hotel properties.

Prior to first joining Wolff, Mr. Cornish worked for Marriott International in Newport Beach and Seattle, and served as General Manager with various companies in the Western States. Mr. Cornish joined Wolff Urban Management as General Manager at Holiday Inn La Mirada in 1992. In 1993, Mr. Cornish was appointed co-General Manager at the Hilton Burbank Airport & Convention Center. After the Hilton was sold, Mr. Cornish worked for Hilton Hotels Corporation and later joined Stonebridge Companies, a Denver-based hotel group, for whom he opened several Anaheim resort area hotels. Mr. Cornish was later promoted to Vice President of Hotel Operations for the company's California region.

Mr. Cornish received a B.S. in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Cum Laude, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA. He is also a lifetime Certified Hotel Administrator.

Dennis Thurman

Senior Vice President of Engineering, Construction & Sustainability

Dennis Thurman is Senior Vice President of Engineering, Construction & Sustainability of Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds. Dennis Thurman is currently overseeing the engineering and construction of all properties that are currently in renovation. He initiates all RFP proposals, monitors all general contractors, and works with design group.

Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Thurman worked as a private consultant at Tehcs Inc., a private equity firm located in Los Angeles. The bulk of the portfolio comprises multi-family properties, commercial properties, hospitality, medical office buildings etc. Mr. Thurman coordinated the investor reporting and fund accounting for the consolidated partnerships.

Prior to working as a private consultant, Mr. Thurman worked at Morlin Asset Management Family Properties, an owner, developer and manager of commercial real estate properties located in Los Angeles. Mr. Thurman was responsible for the Operational, financial & Engineering and Construction reporting requirements of over 4.8 million square feet of retail shopping centers, medical office building, commercial, hospitality & industrial facilities.

Prior to Morlin Asset Management, Mr. Thurman worked at Transwestern as National Director of Energy & Construction/Senior Vice President of Engineering, Construction & Sustainability handling all aspects of day to day real estate investment trusts located throughout the US. Mr. Thurman was responsible for the internal and external financial reporting requirements of 90 million square feet of commercial real estate located in throughout the US.

Mr. Thurman is a recognized leader throughout the Industry with designations, licenses and degrees in the following: Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Licensed Instructor, Licensed Energy Auditor, Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Real Property Manager (RPA), Certified Professional Engineer (CPE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Los Angeles LABBC founding member, EETAP Trade Ally, Licensed Steam Engineer, Universal Rule-608 Unlimited, Rule 1415 Auditor, Water Damage Restoration Certified (WDR) & Licensed Reg-IV Fire Life Safety tester and inspector.

Mr. Thurman is also actively involved in all Los Angeles Codes Committees, Sustainability Committee, Education, EBEWE, CEC, NFPA, & many more.

Mike Foley

Vice President of Construction & Project Management

Mr. Foley is Vice President of Construction & Project Management at Hawkins Way Capital. Mr. Foley was previously the CEO of Nail Jack Tools, and was a principal at Strome Partners, an investment firm, also located in Santa Monica, California, where he served on the Executive Committee and directed the marketing and client services efforts with AUM in excess of one billion dollars.

He began his career at Kayne Anderson, an alternative investment firm in Century City, and was a partner of Trinity River Advisors, Inc., in Dallas Texas, investing in and advising distressed companies.

Mr. Foley received his B.A. in Liberal Arts from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.

Mr. Foley is a graduate of the Defense Information School for Public Affairs and a US Army veteran, and is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63).

Jeff Leone

Vice President of Investments

Jeff Leone is a Vice President at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds where he is primarily responsible for growing the firm's national real estate platform by sourcing, analyzing, and managing the firm's acquisitions.

Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Jeff was as an investment banker at Moelis & Company in New York, a leading global independent investment bank, where he focused on mergers & acquisitions, recapitalization & restructuring, and risk advisory transactions across a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Jeff was an investment analyst at Luxor Capital Group, a New York based hedge fund, where he focused on real estate, lodging and gaming and technology, media & telecommunications. Jeff holds a B.A. from Northwestern University.

Leonard Ross

Senior Associate of Investments

Leonard Ross is a Senior Associate at Hawkins Way Capital and its affiliated funds, where he is primarily responsible for analyzing, executing, and managing real estate equity investments and capital market opportunities. Prior to joining Hawkins Way Capital, Mr. Ross was with JRK Investors, a real estate private equity firm located in Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Acquisitions Group.

During his tenure at JRK Investors, Mr. Ross focused on sourcing and evaluating multifamily property and/or portfolio transactions for two value-add funds totaling $830 million. Mr. Ross was responsible for executing the acquisition and disposition of over 60 deals with total capitalization of $3 Billion.

Mr. Ross received his B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Dartmouth College.

Mark Strome

Advisory Partner

Mr. Strome is the Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and Chairman at Strome Investment Management, L.P. He founded Strome Investment Management and Strome Securities L.P. in 1992. Mr. Strome is the founder and primary stockholder of a securities brokerage company and investment management company and is responsible for raising and managing $1.8 billion in private placement hedge fund investments focusing on non-traditional investments including commodities, currencies, bankruptcy reorganizations, and venture capital and private equity investments.

Mr. Strome is a Member of the Board of Directors of NWP services. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from Old Dominion University in 1978, an M.S. in Economics in 1980 from the University of California at Berkeley, and the honorary Doctor of Science in 1998 from Old Dominion University where he now serves as trustee emeritus and supports the Strome College of Business.

Lew Wolff

Advisory Partner

Mr. Wolff is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wolff Urban, a real estate acquisition, investment, development and management firm. He is also the co-Founder and, since 1994, has served as co-Chairman of Maritz, Wolff & Co., a privately held hotel investment group that owns top-tier luxury hotels. Maritz Wolff's investments exceed $1.0 billion.

Mr. Wolff serves as a Director of Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc., served as Vice Chairman of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and served as co-Chairman of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a hotel management company formed by Fairmont Hotel Management Company and Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts, Inc. Mr. Wolff acquired ownership of Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics in 2005 and Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes in 2007.

Mr. Wolff serves on the Board of Directors of First Century Bank and Bobrick Washroom Equipment. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and received his M.B.A from Washington University in St. Louis.
